Annual NUTRIM Symposium 18 November 2020

For your convenience, abstracts were either divided according to the NUTRIM division in which the research is performed, or according to the type of research: fundamental or applied.

Abstracts Division 1 | Obesity, Diabetes & Cardiovascular Health >

We develop strategies that allow to make healthy choices easier, to assist people in changing their lifestyle in order to improve their quality of life and to reduce the public health impact of metabolic diseases.

Abstracts Division 2 | Liver & Digestive Health >
Research performed in this division encompasses human intervention studies, epidemiological and fundamental in vivo and in vitro research.

Abstracts Division 3 | Respiratory & Age-related Health >
Division III research aims to understand the onset of disease related to age and lifestyle, with the ultimate goal of identifying people with an enhanced risk for disease and (re-)hospitalization.

Fundamental research aims at improving scientific theories for better understanding of biological processes in health or disease. In contrast, applied research uses scientific theories to develop technology or techniques which can be used to intervene and alter disease or disease risk.

NUTRIM | School of Nutrition and Translational Research in Metabolism
NUTRIM aims to contribute to health maintenance and personalised medicine by unraveling lifestyle and disease-induced derangements in metabolism and by developing targeted nutritional, exercise and drug interventions. This is facilitated by a state of the art research infrastructure and close interaction between scientists, clinicians, master and PhD students.
